Romeo Jackson

They/Them

Romeo Jackson (they/them) is a Faculty at SEIU, where they teach organizational development and leadership to emerging leaders. As a Trainer and Co-creator at Rockwood Leadership Institute, Romeo specializes in transformative leadership development that centers healing justice and sustainable organizing practices. They are a facilitator for Rockwood's Heart of Black Leadership and Trans Movement Leader Fellowship programs.


Romeo brings a unique integration of organizing, healing justice praxis, and organizational development to their work. They are currently a PhD candidate in Higher Education Leadership at Colorado State University, where their dissertation research examines how healing justice practices strengthen organizational resilience and leadership sustainability. As Portfolio Manager at co-LAB Collective, Romeo manages the Black Leadership Rising portfolio, supporting movement organizations building worker and community power.


Romeo's approach to leadership and organizational development emphasizes the 3Rs practice (Rest, Recovery, Renewal) and recognizes that sustainable transformation requires attending to both organizational systems and the wellbeing of organizers themselves.


Romeo is a Licensed Massage Therapist and Wellcoaches-certified (in progress) health coach, bringing somatic and embodied practices into leadership development spaces. Their work bridges racial justice, anti-Black racism, and structural racism analysis with conflict transformation and ancestral wisdom traditions to build more resilient unions and stronger worker power.
